You know what I really hate? I hate it when people blame everything but their own damn selves for not doing their jobs.
The account executives were reviewing their business plans with Bossman yesterday, and someone, and I know exactly who, stated that she would be able to do her job much better if she had better training on the software.
Then everyone in there starts echoing "Yeah, Yeah! That's true." So, Bossman gets this bug in his head that "Well, we must only be using 10% of the capacity of this software, so we're not using it right."
Okay, let's be perfectly clear. This is a PHONE business. How efficient you are at using the software has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not you get on the phone.
Now I'm being sent on a wild goose chase to compile some sort of documentation of our policies and procedures in using this software and what the training requirements will be for it. I spent two months working on recruiter manuals for them (another project that really pissed me off) that they read once, and stashed away. They haven't since referred to them, and I wasted all that time because Bossman wanted us to have what some other dude's office had.
I've been beating these fucking idiots over the head about how to be trained on this software for over a year. I even send them emails telling them when conference calls are coming up. It takes another person saying, "Hey, look what the software can do!" for everyone to go back and remember, "Oh yeah...Tiffany already showed us that."
Obviously this is their INEPTITUDE in not being able to retain and use instruction.
I said, rather loudly in a stage whisper, yesterday after being TOLD by Bossman to do this, "Fuck all y'all" with a display of both middle fingers (Bossman is deaf on one side. He didn't hear). I then went on a rant about how I'm sick of having to take on wack-ass projects because they want to complain about everything BUT their own deficiencies as recruiters. BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE FUCKING TIME.

Posted by: Sheron at December 15, 2005 09:06 AMI've been around computers and software since the late 1960s. Software is just a tool, to help you do your job - better, faster, easier - or it is not worth having. Unless these people need to do things the same way, or unless the information they are putting into the computer has to be consistent, why worry?
There are a lot of features in Word and Excel that I never use. They aren't really free, or wasted, because you have to spend the time to learn to use them, and you could be using that time to do something more important. Reading Blown Fuse, for example!
